Karana Roy IV was sold as a small pup to Virginia Chilcott of Tasmania & 9 months later I travelled to Tasmania to do a training clinic that Virginia had arranged me to do & Roy was 12 months old when I first saw him after sending him to Virginia. When I saw him I tried to buy him back straight away but Virginia would not sell him. Another 18 months passed & due to changing circumstances Virginia decided to sell Roy back to me & although I had to pay a good sum to get him back I was delighted to get him back I could see what ability was in him that I believed I could bring out with correct training, He is an amazing intelligent sheep dog with all round ability & a massive amount of desire to work. He is naturally careful with baby lambs & prepared to hit a ram on the nose if he is challenged. He will cast wide & out of sight if the sheep are far enough away.
He has developed into a great competition dog having Won the New South Wales Utility Championship at Nyngan on the 2nd of August 2020.
Roy arrived back home aged 2 1/2 on the 21st of July 2017.

26th August 2017 Roy came 5th in the Open 3 sheep Trial on very wild sheep
9th September 2017 Roy Won the Open Yard Trial at Forbes 90+90
22 July 2018 Roy Won the Novice Utility Trial at Nyngan & came 5th in the Open
29th July 2018 Roy came 4th in the Open Yard Trial at Hawksbury
13th October 2018 Roy came 3rd in the Open Yard Trial at Ilabo 97+83
2nd February 2019 Roy came 2nd in the Open Yard Trial at Nimitabel 92+91
5th May 2019 Roy came 2nd in the Open Championship at Wagga
25th August 2019 Roy Won the Open Goat Trial at Wentworth where we had to work 3 Feral Billy goats around a 3 sheep trial course
25th August 2019 Roy came 2nd in the Open Classic Trial at Wentworth which is the Yard Trial & 3 sheep trial scores combined to get the best all round dog
7th September 2019 Roy came 2nd in the Open Yard Trial at Forbes
2nd November 2019 Roy came 2nd in the Open Area Championship Yard Trial at the Australian Yard Dog Championship at West Wyalong
2nd November 2019 Roy came 5th in the Australian Yard Dog Championship at West Wyalong
1st March 2020 Roy came 5th in the A C T Championship Yard Trial
8th March 2020 Roy came 3rd in the Dalgety Open Yard Trial
2nd August 2020 Roy Won the New South Wales Utility Championship at Nyngan 76+94

20th February 2021 Roy Won the Open 3 sheep trial at Gundagai
18th April 2021 Roy came 3rd in the NSW Utility Championship at Eugowra. We had it won by 7 points with scores of 93 + 82 until we lost an additional 10 points as we were leaving the Arena Roy cocked his leg on the gate post & we lost 10 points & lost the trial by 3 points. Very dissapointing as Roy won the NSW Utility Championship at Nyngan in 2020 & this would have been a back to back win.
20th March 2022 Roy Won the Open Championship Yard Dog Trial at Yass Show
5th June 2022 Roy IV Won the Mackenzie Hazelton Charity Stock Dog Trial which was a trial where we had to do a 3 sheep trial & a yard trial & a cattle trial & your 3 scores got added together to come up with the total score & we are very proud to say that Roy came out as the overall winner.
7th March 2023 Roy IV Won the National Kelpie Utility Championship at Mansfield giving us our 10th win in the National Kelpie Championship & we competed in the Australian Yard Dog Championship next day at the same venue & Roy came 2nd in the Open Championship which was the Qualifying round for the Australian Yard Dog Championship & he came 5th in the Australian Yard .
